Paradeisos

gin / aperol / rhubarb

Junk’s Jam:

Serves 2

Hey!

So this cocktail is absolutely deadly! We’re sure Patrizia Reggiani would have been delighted to toast the departure of the dear affluent Mauricio Gucci with this fashionably tasty cocktail. She may not have got the paradeisos she thought but you sure will when you drink this beauty.

P.S. We got this sexy glass from a wonderful business in Edinburgh called Lifestory, their shelves display everything from ceramics to cushions, from unisex fragrance to children’s toys, from jewellery to design magazines. Go check them out and give them a like on instagram and facebook!

The Recipe

Stage #1
>The Prep

100ml Aperol
50ml Harris Gin
25ml Contratto Vermouth Bianco
25ml Antica Formula
50ml Rhubarb Purée

Top with Prosecco

Slice of Orange
Cocktail Stick

The Purée

240g Rhubarb
60ml Grapefruit Juice
10g Pomegranate Molasses
40g Sugar

  • Peel & slice the Rhubarb and place in a pot with the Grapefruit Juice, Molasses & Sugar. Cook on a low heat for around 20 minutes or until the Rhubarb is soft.

  • Blend until smooth and pass it through a Fine Sieve.

Stage #2
>Assemble

shake & Build \ coup glass

  • Shake all your ingredients together (apart from the Prosecco & Garnish).

  • Double strain into the Coup Glasses.

  • Blowtorch half a slice of Orange as garnish and carefully put a cocktail stick through it so it will prop itself up in the glass. A wee note: this is a pointless wanky thing that looks pretty but doesn’t bring much to the party! Not got a Blowtorch? Count yourself lucky you’ve just saved yourself making a wonderful drink and having shitty bits of burnt flakes floating about in it! Peel a bit of Orange and make a nice twist. Much better! Bought a Blowtorch specifically for this recipe and just reading this now. Call us cunts and be done with it - enjoy your drink!
