So Jade and I have a bit of an affiliation with Harry Potter, but pretty sure most people in the world do? If you ain’t watched it or read it just go and get it done and out the way and be a sheep like everybody else. It’s good. It’s really good. I had never watched it so Jade introduced me to the MARATHON! Not an original thing but who cares! There is nothing better than when the winter months come in to snuggle up on the couch surrounded by all the crap known to man, eating and drinking your way through 8 movies about a boy wizard, his ginger mate, his oddly sexy female companion, and the big hairy dude who is always hanging about. Whats not to love! So this has ended up being a tradition every year since we have been together and will continue to do so as our daughter grows up!

See look at that, I’ve written a full story without swearing, without something derogatory, without being disgusting in anyway! How good is that? Nae bad!

The last time we started watching Harry Potter all hell broke loose, Jade took on a dare and stripped naked, walked around the complex all the while ‘Black Betty’ was playing at full blast. We then we had a threesome that put our relationship to the test and nearly caused 2 mental breakdowns and almost fucked our entire life. BOOM!

>Hand Blender
>ISI Gun
>2 co2 Cartridges

The Recipe

Stage #1
>The Prep

25ml Caol Ila 12yr Old Single Malt Whisky

80ml Maple Butter Syrup
10ml Lemon Juice

Topped up with Beer Foam

 
 

Maple Butter Syrup

200ml Water
100g Muscovado Sugar
100g Maple Syrup
1/2 Vanilla Pod
5g Angostura Bitter
150g Salted Butter
25g Ginger
1/4 Grated Nutmeg
1/4 Tsp Xantham Gum

  • Place the Butter into a pan and bring up to the boil. Brown off the Butter and then strain.

  • Finely grate the Ginger (skin on) into a pot and add everything else (apart from the Xantham Gum). Bring up to the boil and remove from the heat.

  • Add in the Xantham Gum and blitz with a Hand Blender and leave to cool.

 
 

Foam

350ml Joker IPA
2 Egg Yolks
40g Sugar
20ml Double Cream
1/5 Tsp Xantham Gum

  • Whisk the Yolks & Sugar over a bain-marie until thick and pale - about 8 minutes.

  • Add in the IPA & Double Cream and blend together with the Xantham Gum.

  • Empty the contents into an ISI Gun and charge twice.

  • Chill for at least 4 hours.

Stage #2

>Assemble

 

Build \ Mug or Stein

  • Place some Ice into a Mixing Glass and add in the Syrup, Whisky & Lemon Juice. Stir until completely chilled.

  • Strain into your favourite Mug or Stein and top with the Beer Foam.

  • Sit back, relax, and watch some Harry Potter. Hope your threesome was better than ours!
